The vision of Johannissyan Institute’s Regional Projects is to decentralize arts and humanities education from Yerevan to the regions of Armenia, as well as to foster interregional connections and collaboration. The aim is to create opportunities for the Institute to connect its research program with the cultural and historical heritage of the regions and to open up a possibility for its rethinking.
The dissemination of critical historical, cultural and artistic knowledge to the regions is carried out following the Institute’s modus operandi of taking local specificities as a starting point. To this end, we organize educational and cultural projects, lectures, thematic discussions, artistic workshops, interlibrary events, and other collaborations and shared projects that stem from local needs. The Regional Projects aim to foster the creation of an interregional scientific and educational network by promoting close collaboration with regional cultural and educational institutions.
